Re: Fads come and go
Since I'm likely older than anyone here, I remember fox tails on the antennas, and curb feelers too, along with rear mud flaps with lights on them.
Fender skirts were popular in the old days too, and some cars looked really good with them.

Bill, I have just fairly recently put racoon tails and fender skirts on mine and was looking for mud flaps when my health took a big dump. JB

Re: Fads come and go
Ok guys, dont laugh. I was thinking about some fads from back in the day. How about satin jackets and airbrushed T-shirts. I kept the jacket on the clothes hook in the back of the chevelle when I brought it to shows. Notice the shirt is dated 1986.
No laughing !!!

I see you did that with yours. I don't know if the wife would let me put that up be hind the couch or not
How many of you have a car seat for a couch in your living room? When I put buckets in the 56 chevy I made a pedestal and we use the front seat for a couch now. Everyone comments on it when they come in. Then they say can I sit on it and the answer is always yes that's what its there for.

That couch is what I want to do with the bench from my Chevelle when the buckets go in. That's the ticket. . .
And now I know how. . .

Average piece of furniture is 18" off the ground to the top of the front so measure from there to determine how thick you base needs to be and your good to go from there. My base is 2x4's and plywood wrapped in carpet.I used non-woven carpet it foams over any thing nice.

Saw a couple at a car show that made pillows out of their old t - shirts and had them displayed in the back seat. Thought that was a good idea.

I uploaded a picture for this thread and decided it would make a good avatar so the rest is history.

Re: Fads come and go
Here are my make shift seats, I have two sets. They are out of a Boeing 717 from an airline I used to work at. They recline pretty far and still have trays on the back. They're a good conversation piece.

Unless they're from first class, there's no way in hell they can be comfortable.
