Anybody have any experience with finding/installing headers on a GP w/pontiac motor?
Anybody here have any luck finding or installing headers on '73-77 Grand Prix platform? I run a pontiac motor and headers on anything with a poncho engine is no fun....I imagine these would be super difficult. But curious if anyone here has any info??
I could go with Ram Air manifolds, but sooo pricey and still don't scavenge like headers.
Thanks!
Jesse

I remeber trying to get them to seal in my brothers 77 TA. I think we cut the gaskets in sections or just in half then put them in and tightened from the center out. Honestly its not worth it,I would just use the stock manifolds.

I do remember gasket problems, seems like I was putting new ones on every other week.

Locking header fasteners are important...standard bolts usually loosen and cause leaks.
When tightening the bolts you must tighten them progressively...give yourself about 4 hours for the install.
I've had good luck with the basic Summit headers.
Pontiac is nice because the Plug wires don't run close to the headers.
It's worth the 4 hours and $125 for the performance boost.

I was looking at the Summit headers, I am interested in them. I guess my biggest concern is if they will clear the frame rails. I have heard rumor that the older GP specific headers will work...I guess it would be like most things on this car, trial and error...plus a little clearancing and fabricating here and there.
Thanks,
