4speed shifter hump location
I just bought one of those aftermarket 4 speed shifter humps for my 73 Chevelle. Does anyone have a pic of a factory one on a bare floorpan? I am trying to figure out exactly where to position this but since the motor and trans are not in the car its kinda tough. Seems like it should be real close to the floor support at the front of the seat. I want to be sure if you know what I mean. I have positioned the console in the car for a reference but still would like to see a pic if possible before hacking a hole in my floor.

Re: 4speed shifter hump location
Laguna Budman posted a pic of his new '73 Chevelle project not too long ago, had a good shot of the floor. I'm going to be doing the same thing with mine, so it's a good reference.

Hope this helps! How you dont mind me posting this pic over here Budman.

Re: 4speed shifter hump location
Thanks for the pics Discomalibu and Laguna Budman. If you have any measurements, it would probably be helpful. If I had a distance from the floor brace forward to the back edge of the shiter hole. Also, is the right edge of the shifter hole about center on the floor hump? Can't tell from the angle. Thanks.

Re: 4speed shifter hump location
I gotta warn anyone looking to buy one of these aftermarket 4speed humps that they are hardly drop and weld. This one I bought from Partsplace and it is "crude" as my shop teacher used to say. These things need some serious trimming and adjusting to make them fit. Thats why its so hard for me to figure out exactly where it goes without some guidance. If you can find a used original I would highly recommend it. I wish I would have.
