Wow, they did mine in 6 weeks for 700 dollars plus shipping. There is no real difference in the 77 Monte dash and my SS dash, what's up ? Pretty big price increase in just a couple of years.

3m has products that will fix cracks for structural integrity and you can have the dash pad wrapped in leather or vinyl to match your interior by an upholsterer. I'm going that route myself.

I think the difference is they took your dash and repaired it. It looks like they want to build a complete new upper piece for mine. $1200 (plus shipping) is a pretty penny to pay for me, so either I save up or go a different route. As of now, looks like it will remain cracked

I think for now that is the way I am going to go. I had one on my first Monte back in the day and had no problem with it.

Hi Kenny,
For a 1977 Chevy Monte Carlo, we do a complete restoration. You will
need to send the dash into us and we will do a complete reconstruction
off your original dash frame. We work off of your original part to
ensure that when you go to put it back in your car, you know it's
going to fit. Our current turnaround time is about 12 weeks from the
time we receive your part.
Send to: Just Dashes
5941 Lemona Ave.
Van Nuys, CA 91411
Cost:
$1,200 - Dash Pad
$50 - Center Speakers
or
$1400 - 1 Piece Dash w/Molded Lower
+ Shipping
This price includes that restoration of the dash pad in black. For any
other color, you can add $100-$150 depending on the color. I've
attached an order form for your convenience. Let me know if you need
anything else.
Thanks,
Jason

For that kind of money make your own. I'm sure I don't have that much into mine.

Anyone bought a cover from OPGI? They have the carpet and formed overlays. The overlay is from Dashtop by Palco which gives you color options to choose from on their website. They are pricey too, the overlay is 145.00 plus 24.00 is you want a different color other than black. Its 123.99 on OPGI's website for a black one.
The carpet ones do not give you the option of factory colors and there isn't many pictures to know what it covers.

Re: Just Dashes - 1973 Chevelle SS dash
That Palco dash cover looks way nicer than the one I got from "Coverlay". Stay away from theirs- total piece of
I'd try and ask OPGI to get the manufacturer to send them/you an actual production product photo. That way you can truly compare it.
Problems w/ the one I got were:
1. Incorrect "Grain"
2. Didn't line up w/ defrost vents (about 2" to short) & did not rest against the windshield.
3. Sides were not molded correctly in the area the doors hide when closed that screw into the mounting brackets.
4. Absolutely TERRIBLE fitment where dash pad met the vents!

You know, I can understand #1. But the rest are inexcusable. Did they not have a car to actually photograph, measure, and (OMG) test? Were they working off a crayon drawing of the car done by a 5 year old?

Re: Just Dashes - 1973 Chevelle SS dash
I agree about the caps not fitting all that good. Good thing I'm not too fussy. Mine fits good except around the vents, like mentioned. I painted the old dash around the vents, which sort of hides the bad fit of the cover

Dash pad removal
Are all the screws accessible to remove the dash pad?
Not for sure the exact locations. Pretty easy to do? How hard to get at on passenger side? Want to send my dash to Just Dashes for refurbish.
Thanks!

Re: Just Dashes - 1973 Chevelle SS dash
Just FYI, all (3) of my 73, non-a/c, dashes did not come apart. Meaning the dash pad is not removable. Just FYI.

Cool! Thanks for the thread! Not too hard. Just wanted to know where to begin. This is an AC dash so should come apart. Thanks again!

Re: Just Dashes - 1973 Chevelle SS dash
I just had one one done top and lower area for the 1974-1977 Cars from "Just Dashes" It is EXCELLENT! You get what you pay for. it was $1,617.00 plus shipping of 100.00. If you have a Quality car that is what you need, If you have an average car or a daily driver, a dash cap might do, it depends on you, and the car you are working on.

For that money it had better be 100% flawless, and include installation by a Pamela Anderson lookalike. Lol

Re: Just Dashes - 1973 Chevelle SS dash
I think it has less to do with you and your car, and more to do with your pocketbook. for that kind of money I'll wait and find an original dash in nice shape. That's just me, and my two cents. I'd also have to say that if you have a dash cap, I wouldn't go so far as to assume that your car is only "average", or just good enough to be a daily driver. I've seen lots of QUAILITY cars with dash caps. Then again I've also seen a lot of nice cars that look like they have an $1800.00 dash pad in them. lol But to each their own....

Re: Just Dashes - 1973 Chevelle SS dash
I don't have a problem spending that much to redo the dash especially since the quality is there and the finished product looks great. I also wouldn't mind using a dash cap but they don't fit the best.

Hey, Mitchell...I see you're selling your newly refurbished Just Dashes dash. What's up with that? Would be a bargain for someone at $1200 if you're considering going this route.
