Re: Nice Grand Am for Sale
The G/A is my favorite G3 Poncho for sure. I don't get why Pontiac quit on these cars in 75. I know they had the Lemans & the GP too & I think those were both produced for each of the 5 years run. Anyone know for sure what production numbers were for the three models?

Re: Nice Grand Am for Sale
Well, there were 34,445 2dr Grand Ams in 1973 and 8,691 4drs made. In 1974 there were 13,961 2drs and 3,122 4drs. Then in 1975 there were only 8,786 2drs and 1,893 4drs made. The 1973 GTO had 4,806 copies made, and there were 1,377 1977 Can Ams made. This link has ALL production numbers for All the A-body Pontiacs, nice site to visit! http://www.pontiacpower.org/production.htm

Re: Nice Grand Am for Sale
The main reason they stopped making the big Grand Am's according to Jim Wangers(I asked him) was that the competition with the Grand Prix was frowned on by the top brass. They (Grand Ams) used the Grand Prix dash and other components, and the money counters did not want to run short on any parts for their number one seller. Combined with the gas shortages, downsizing all cars and the labor strikes, it was too expensive to keep so many different - but similar models going in the lineup.

That figures. Chevelle & Monte shared a lot of items- they never complained. LOL
Thanks for the link too.

Re: Nice Grand Am for Sale
I think on one of those years they have an Enduro type nose on the G Body.
Didn't they have an 80 & 81 also?
