Dash Cap Empty Dash Cap

My 75 has a badly cracked dash. Considering the plastic Dash Cap that overlays and sticks down. Has anyone ever used this and or your opinions.

74montecarlo had one on his. looked pretty good but he said you could tell it was there around the vents.

77 mali had a bad experience in the sticky thread called interior parts, look under G3 tech, interior. I bought one, but never installed it, because all the others i saw looked pretty hokie up close after install.

My dash is really screwed up too, someone used bondo to try and repair it. Rolling Eyes Its so uneven that the cap would never sit right. I was thinking that carpet would be a better alternative to the cap and hide it better. Anyone know where to find one?

I got a dash cap from Coverlay- never again. Some other members caps look decent- I think pila has one but I don't know who manufactured it. His looks good, I bet it wasn't a Coverlay's cap.

I bought a dash mat brand carpeted cover off of eBay for $30.00. They sell for appx $40.00 on dashmat.com. they have choices in material, and options to have it monogramed. Razz

never did like the looks of the cap even back in 1990 when they stared making them. you would think some nerd would of made them better by now....

i bought a carpet cover,did not like it either. maybe im just hard to please.

My son's car has a dash cap on it and you have to really look hard to tell its there. Not sure of the manufacturer as it was there when he bought it.
