console fitment Empty console fitment

Some of you may already know this, but I just found out. My car was originalty a bench seat coulmn shift car.  I got a '76/'77 Chevy console and shifter from a guy on C/T.  When I was mocking it up I found some of the holes are already in the floor to locate the thing.  A bonus for me was the factory bracket for a OE shifter fit my Hurst dual gate like it was made for it, and located it at the right height in the right location.  I don't know if this is true on all G3's but it works for a '74 chevelle. What a Face

pic of what, the console or the holes in the floor?  The holes i found are the back two for the shifter, and the two that are in the front of the console box.  there may be more but I havn't pulled the carpet to look. What a Face   these holes are on a brace so they dont go all the way through to the outside.  anyway it is really nice for a retrofit since it gives some direction as to exactly where the thing is suppost to be.

the holes in the floor are there on all cars. the front 2 are for the shifter, the 2 right behind them are for the console. they are usually just indents until they put in the console/bucket stuff. which are mainly the extra brackets.

so are you using the dual gate now or using the correct monte/chevelle shifter?

Dual gate. I had to make a new top plate. I posted pics before of the top plate. I'm currently at work , slacking off, so I can't post any pics.
