Header Panel
Are the 1974-77 header panels (between top of grille and front of hood) all interchangeable?
Does anyone have a straight rust free header panel without the hood ornament hole? Or if not no where I can get one.
Thanks

Re: Header Panel
I do believe '74/'77 is the same part. As for getting one I would contact. Mcarlo77 . Aka Steve and ask him. I would imagine that would be a relatively common part for him to find.

Yes they are all interchangeable. I use one from 76/77 without hood ornament hole on an 74 model!

If you have one without the hole, I am interested. Let me know how much you'd want.

Re: Header Panel
I just checked the one I have, and it has the ornament hole. Seems like Chevelles have no hole, and the Malibu does. Same with Elco, the Custom has no hole, and the Classic does.
Worst case scenario...weld a piece under the hole & fill the top with All-metal, if you don't find one without the hole.
My '74 Malibu has the hole, but wish it didn't, since the car cover doesn't like the ornament, and I took it off.....

Re: Header Panel
I don't weld, and the body shops around here aren't interested in doing that kind of work. So I figured it might be easier to use one without a hole. Plus I can keep the stock parts if I ever want to go back to stock.
Thanks Limey, let me know.

Re: Header Panel
No hood ornament hole but has very small dent by where it would go. 2 options just the header panel itself or all 3 pieces ? Would rather hang onto the head light buckets for spares but would sell the you the part where the hood ornament would go ( no hole though ) Pics will be shortly and I hope you like Lime Green LMAO

Re: Header Panel
I am not interested in the headlight buckets. Can you PM me with a price for the header panel? How many dents are in it? It's hard to tell from the photos they are a little blurry. Any rust?
