Back in the 90s, I replaced all that trim on my Malibu, with factory stuff from a local dealer, and after about three years, the plastic stuff was faded.
So during the restoration, I just didn't put any back on, and sold the corner pieces. A cheap-A$$ crappy design in my opinion....
I may fabricate some new trim from stainless steel.....

Mine was off for probably 18 (of the 20 years I've owned the car) , until I scored a nice stainless set from a '73.  I never even thought to call the dealer (in 1994)to see if it was still available... Mad

I bought a set of the aftermarket ones last month for our Monte from Phil(montemania), they look a lot better than the faded, cracked ones that were on the car. We'll see how they hold up
