Re: If you had 10K for a car...
That would be a easy cloan, if you could find the right car...ie no green interiors, or landau windows (where the stripe has to run)

I would use the 10k to put a boosted ls 6.0 into my F-150.

@Roadcaptain S3
My first car was a 71 Satellite Sebring. I liked their look better than the later ones. Good luck finding one that hasn't been turned into a Road Runner or GTX clone already. They want way too much money for them too.

I have to say, I always found those very attractive. I guess I should add a 4th one to my list. See, that's why I said it's so tough to narrow down the list!

I always wanted a big convertible, prefer a caddy ('65/'75) or a Chevy ('63/'75)

Convertible, now we're talking, '68 Corvette Stingray 427 L88 of course.
Enough room for me, my wife, and um ..... who needs anything else?

Unless it hit a tree at 50 mph, you would not be scoring that for $10,000.Dinomyte wrote:Convertible, now we're talking, '68 Corvette Stingray 427 L88 of course.

As a kid, my neighbor's dad had one of those, I hated his guts...I'll always associate that car with evil.

I've seen several 65-70 Impalas/Bel Airs/Biscaynes/Caprices around here on CL in good condition under 10k. Including a couple of SSs.

Shortbed or longbed, I have no preference. Â Actually I really want a CC dually but theres no chance in hell of fitting one in my garage

Lol, yeah hence my comment about it not fitting in my garage, my 73 just fits with enough room to walk in front of it. I think I could maybe get about 1/3 of that truck in the garage.

I always wanted one of those COE trucks, but I think it would burn through 10k pretty quick just to get it sound and reliable.

I spent way way more than that this past year alone all most 3 times that amount. You would die if you knew how much I have spent on my car since I picked it up in December of 2006. I Have had 5 engines in 4 trans mission's and got so fed up with most of them I went all brand new this time around.
