Seat Belt Sleeves Empty Seat Belt Sleeves

As you can tell from the photo, my seat belt sleeves are not in the best shape. Has any one found a suitable replacement that they are using?

I've been pretty happy with these from seatbeltstore.com:

You can probably also take a heat gun to them to reshape them if need be.

When I did my Malibu, I had bought a role of the belt material, and had a shoe repair guy sew the new belts. Fooling around with the retractors etc was a real pain in the butt....
Seeing the seatbeltstore.com here back then would sure have made life easier....

I bought a pair off eBay that were from a '76 corvette. They are technically to short, I had to custom make mounts to use them, but they look & function well.

Why not just cut down what's busted to that last corrugated piece on the plastic & just reuse them? Both sides look like that section is still in decent shape.

Would work just fine, I would think...except in this case, it appears you'd have three different colors of strap showing.

I had thought about that and it looks like that might be the way I go. I'm also trying to figure out where the Green and Black belts came from. scratch

Very common for there to be different colored straps for those belts that had plastic covers on them. Can only guess that GM allowed their supplier to use up their odds and ends straps since they wouldn't be seen anyway (at least until the plastic broke apart).

I was successful dying some faded black shoulder straps the same color (black)...but, when I tried dying some light blue ones to black, it was a failure.  Turned them a light bluish-gray.  Problem is, straps are made of a nylon/polyester type material and by nature, these plasticizers don't readily absorb enough to change colors.  I used an acid dye recommended by a leading company in the dye business named Jacquard.

Haven't tried or heard of anyone painting their straps.  I'd be inclined to think that would make them stiff...and, would soon start to flake off as the belts were used.  But, who knows...it might make them presentable; at least for the  short term.

I'd like to replace mine as well since they disintegrated back in the 1980s.  My belts are black and tan...looks great with a blue interior. Turd

Am I correct assuming that the belt must be removed, slid into the sleeve and then re-attached?  I'm not sure if I can get the bolts out of the floorboards...was pretty corroded and ugly under the carpet last time I had the front seat out.
