And here is the other acquisition.  I went from trying to sell the red one, to acquiring this one gold one!  It is an original Y code 454 SS from California and is a much better foundation for me to work from since I do not have the body work skills needed to complete the red one.  I've already cleaned out the inside, and am preparing to begin the undercarriage and suspension!

The red one can be saved, and I know there is someone out there who has the body work skills to accomplish it.  While I do plan on pulling my engine and other brand new parts that I've acquired, there will still be plenty left of it.  When the time is right, I'll let it go very reasonably to ensure that it is saved.  These SS 454s are too rare!

My Dad put the "Chevy Super Sports 1961-1976" book in my hands when I was 6 to look at all of the pictures.  I was always enamored by this page, and remember asking my Dad often if he had ever seen one.  Who knew back then what impact it would have on me...

Hawk that is actually not the wagon. This one was originally from California, and was torn down by the owner previous to me. I had the chance to talk to the guy who owned it from the late 80s to 99 on the phone last weekend, and he even had a couple pictures that he emailed to me.

Hey guys, I've been very busy prepping and selling my old house, but I have almost completed moving the new front end parts and rebuilt engine from the red wagon to the gold one.  I'll get updated pictures posted soon.

I ultimately decided that I couldn't use the red one as a parts car since these SS 454 wagons are so rare.  I'll have the red wagon reassembled and for sale in the next couple of weeks.

Man Kyle I wished Timing was better for that Wagon I would Love to have that booger, Cover it in Drive put behind the House or something for 6 months and then I would be all over it LOL

So I have everything installed that I had on the red wagon, and have even upgraded the rear springs an shocks. Once my brother and I got it running, we reassembled it and I'm planning on setting it aside for a couple years holding onto it until things settle down with the family.

I bought her back this afternoon, and am thrilled!  I also had tracked down some pictures of it from the mid-80s from the third owner. He bought it off his friend (the second owner) who found it on a lot on Hawthorn Blvd in Los Angeles in 83.  It was a daily driver until 1999.  Here are a couple of those pictures from the 80s:

It's amazing once you have room to store projects what you regret selling... of course with this one, my Dad told me from when I listed it that I'd regret it and shouldn't sell it.
Also - so lucky; the buyer never actually titled it, so I just got my title back free and clear!
We're going to finish the project the way we want to. The first project my Dad brought home when I was 4 was a Burnished Brown 69 SS. Since then I've dreamed of a brown muscle car. Right now, we're thinking about going with that dark brown exterior and the lighter colored interior.
