Differential cover sealant
Hey guys I got some seepage, whats the best sealant for the diff cover?

Never had a problem with just the good quality black or orange sealer in a tube, the orange or red is usually high heat, not really necessary. Also Great Stuff, if you can find it works awesome too!

I agree, great stuff is actually that. If your using a paper gasket I'd use some Permatex Ultra Black on both sides of it. JUST A THIN SMEAR on each side. No need for it to squeeze out and make a mess.
If you dont want to use a paper gasket, then I would use some Ultra Black. Run a bead around the perimeter and around each bolt hole. Let it set up the required time and put your cover on.
If your putting on a girdle style cover then no gasket at all. Just some Ultra Black all around. Like the pic below.

I thought Great Stuff is the insulating foam you use around the house...

Well, it's a closed cell foam, so it would probably work. Messy, though.
