upper control arms Empty upper control arms

I have a 74 Malibu was wondering if anyone has used a later model gm upper control arm like off a mid 80 to mid 90 caprice they look almost identical. I'm having problems finding the right bushings one looks right the other fits very loose . I was thinking of just getting new later model arms if they would fit. Thanks
