parts search
Hello everyone
I am trying to help a friend who does not have the internet find a few parts for his 73 chevelle 2 door..
Parts for these cars seem to be harder and harder to find in our region.
He lives in Alberta Canada and is looking for a nice used lower drivers side door panel, one with the standard window crank hole. (black would be a bonus)
He is also looking for a nice set of outer side window mouldings. These are the ones that attach to the top outer edge of the door and have the rubber part that rubs against the glass to keeps the dirt etc out of the inside of the door. I don't know the exact name of them. i think that some places used to sell these nos but if not, aftermarket ones would probably be ok, oreven a real nice set of used.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks Al

Re: parts search
Outer door felts and lower door panels are both available in the aftermarket. Just google it.

Re: parts search
Yes...but, don't think you can order just one door panel?

Re: parts search
Thank you for your help.
Can someone confirm that a 73 chevelle 2 door uses the same inner and outer door felts and lower door panel as a 73 Elcamino.

Re: parts search
The doors are the same between the two models and the upper inner door panels are interchangeable, so I know for a fact that the inner window felts are the same. Not 100% sure on the outers. Same with the lower door panels being interchangeable. However, the Chevelle panel has a longer armrest ledge to accommodate the rearward ashtray that is lacking on the El Camino panel.

Re: parts search
Yes, the lower panels from the El Camino have shorter armrests with no rear ashtray.
The top panels may be interchangeable, but my 73 Laguna parts cars had fancy angled map pockets in the front. It’s an extra piece of material sewn in so you can stash things there. I really like it but it’s not on my 75 el Camino or any other el Camino I have seen. I have two lower door panels in good shape, black, from that Laguna. I’m guessing that shipping to Canada would be pretty high.

My 74 Monte had those angled pockets on the upper door panel. I liked them.

Re: parts search
OPGI (original parts group inc) has had some third generation interior parts in it's more recent paper catalogs.
