There is no way I could go to that and not buy something.

My '74 WAS a colonnade ! Build sheet even sez so ! The vinyl top is gone. Actually I replaced the top once, but for the full resto, I got rid of it !

Since I live just 10 miles away it would be sacrilege for me not to go. I guess I better bring my piggy bank as well.

Yeah, glad I am not 10 miles away.
It's hard to say what the G3 cars will go for at that type of auction.
The auction flyer is covered with shoebox Chevys and C10s.
If you go, please update us with some sales info.
Thanks -
Jerry

Re: Over 100 Colonnade Era Chevrolets
I'm calling in the morning to make an appointment to preview these cars this week. I'll get an update posted on anything of interest. I have 2 other friends going to the auction with me so I'm sure we'll end up dragging something home with us.

Re: Over 100 Colonnade Era Chevrolets
Well me and Revin Kevin made it out to the preview today. Never seen this many g3's in one location before. Some were in very good condition but none of them were "show" quality cars. Several "parts" cars with no engines or totally rusted out but definitely a few worth dragging home if the price is right. Limey, there is one of these parts cars that has very nice sail panels in black that I'll try to bid on Saturday morning. Below is a pic along with pics of most of the collection. Also a link to a short video of all these cars lined up together. Enjoy!

I gotta say that's kind of amazing. It's like looking at a picture of a Chevrolet dealership lot from 40 years ago.

Anxious to hear if you guys came home with anything. Followed the auction early on to see what kind of prices these cars brought.

Re: Over 100 Colonnade Era Chevrolets
Well we didn't end up buying anything. Missed an opportunity on the 77 Malibu that was second in line since the auctioneer didn't see my number being raised at the last minute. It sold for $1000 which was a great deal since it was in nice condition. Also bid on one of the cars that didn't run and bowed out at $400. This was a great experience for someone like me that is green to the auction world. I'll be better prepared for the next one. It was great to see so much interest in this era of cars. Below are a few of the nicer ones that sold Saturday and a short video of the action. It was hard to record and bid at the same time so my apologies for the raw video.
