Re: Center Console hinge needed
The Parts Place sells replacement hinge/box assembly. Just remove your upper pad and reattach to new unit.

I trust you are OK. Very sorry about the rear axle failure.

Thank you - I'll take a look.
[Edit - it's on it's way!]

Yes - I'm "fine".
It put the kabosh on my race season so far. We've also moved from Detroit to closer to Lansing and I was hoping to keep to the race schedule even with the move, which probably would have worked if everything had stayed together.
I crushed the ring and pinion right at the launch (3rd pass of the season, in Rockingham, and 3rd pass on that unit). Didn't even make it 60 feet. I leave the console lid open because the temp gage and engine cooling fan switch are located inside; I must have pitched forward under decel and bumped the cover ripping it right off.
Next event is mid July in Martin Michigan, so I have some time to get my act together.

Keith that looks narrow enough for Sugru to work easily for it. You can find Sugru on Amazon. The great thing about it is that it doesn't dry out ever and stretches and contracts without breaking or splitting. Once inserted it can be painted/stained. I have used it successfully on the dash and on wooden furniture hairline cracks where nothing else worked. It is not expensive ~$20. Since your dash is black it makes color matching even with Sugru easy, but an exact match usually requires a staining agent of some kind.

Excellent; thank you. That is exactly the kind of input I was looking for.
