Short answer, No. Definately will not directly bolt up. Completely different bolt patterns, and as far as I know there are no adapters to mate an older engine to a newer ls type trans. Opposite is possible (newer engine to older 350/400 etc. trans) Add in that the newer engines have the flexplate/ flywheel mounted further forward (into the block) it would have to space out the trans pretty far.

do you mean T56 or a 4L60E from a Z06 corvette with the LS6?

or just in general a T56?

are we talking about a rear mounted late model LS6 Vette T56 trans here, or an old school '70 LS6 Chevelle M22 trans?

if it's an old M22, then bolting it up would be a piece of cake, since an LS6 was just the top of the line 454..
if it's the late model Vette 6 speed trans, then i have no idea. but i do know that you can bolt up a Camaro or Viper T56 trans to pretty much any small or big block Chevy engine with the proper bellhousing, flywheel, and clutch setup. McCleod makes a modular bellhousing setup for bolting pretty much any trans to pretty much any engine, but you will have to mortgage your house and sell your first born child into slavery to afford it..

shouldnt you be able to bolt it up? the t56 is a tremec transmission right? so maybe just change the bell housing?

thats funny cause from what ive herd the newer trannys are only missing one bolt hole compared to our gen of motors and a t56 trans should also have a removeable bell housing to put on an older style bolt patern after all they make muscle car kits for these cars also check out advanced adapters they make adapters for about and engine tranny combo
