MONTE FRONT BUMPER TUCK
Pictures of my Monte's bumper tuck. Relieveing the severe " underbite"
2 1/4" cut out of the tubing with a chop saw for the 73's " bumper shock absorber. Welded back together. The elimination of the center tubing created a "v" which was perfect for getting good proper weld adhesion in the weld area.

Re: MONTE FRONT BUMPER TUCK
That's awesome work! Probably a good example of what they would have looked like had the new bumper standards not been legislated for '73.

I am a fan of tucked bumpers. Yours is the first on a Monte that I've ever seen. Looks nice.

Re: MONTE FRONT BUMPER TUCK
As requested :
Built out of two cars. One of those being purchased in junkyard in New Mexico. Zero Rust.
Full body off resto.....all done by me , except topcoat.
Stainless fuel , brake lines , exhaust.
PST bushing throughout.
1993 LT1 / 4L60 trans. , 1996 Impala SS fuel tank. Rear-end gone through - Auburn and 3.42's
Pwer everything , no sunroof.
As of writing , almost done with interior.
Future plans : 20's all the way around and down another 1".

Re: MONTE FRONT BUMPER TUCK
Might as well bring this back from 2 yrs. ago. I saw the Malibu's with the bumper tuck just never a Monte, that's sharp.
So I made up some new mounts but I think I went a little overkill for something nobody will ever see.

That seems like a product that would sell easily.

Re: MONTE FRONT BUMPER TUCK
If I had a mill to make them a bit easier might be worth while, but I made the cuts with a hacksaw ground & filed smooth.

Re: MONTE FRONT BUMPER TUCK
Can you post the specs? I'll have my brother make me some if he can, or maybe I'll send to a machine shop.

Re: MONTE FRONT BUMPER TUCK
I haven't tried them yet so I'm not 100% percent sure if the bumper placement will be right.
Oh yea the plates I used were 1/4" thick but 3/16 would be fine, I didn't have any 3/16 on hand.
