Chrome plating plastic
Anyone know of a place to get plastic chrome plated? I want to get a set of stacked headlight bezels refinished. Thanks

Re: Chrome plating plastic
There is a place I think called Pauls chrome plating that does it.

Re: Chrome plating plastic
There used to be a handful of companies around the country that did this work, but the one I had talked to several yrs ago is now defunct. Prices aren't cheap, either. Try Googling Chrome Vacuum Metalizing.

This may not be what you're looking for but I'd been investigating chrome paint one day, and found a lot of model building site with information. The general comment was sand, spray paint several layers of high gloss black, them use the "Mexican chrome" chrome spray paint. Not sure what it's durability will be like as these folks weren't using it on outdoor stuff ...

Re: Chrome plating plastic
What about powder coat? Those bezels arent just hard plastic right? I cant remember now. But Ive seen powder coat that looks like chrome. Might work for a crappy looking bumber too.

Wouldn't that process that does the fancy paint dipping for wheels be able to do this ?? Hydrodipping its called its worth a shot ?

77CAMINO ,
youtube has several vidoes in reference to water transfer printing.( hydrographics)
they can dip wheels , hoods , small pieces with any kind of graphic or solid sheet color
someone may make a vinyl transfer that replicates " chrome" sheet
that may be the most cost wise....worth checking into.

Re: Chrome plating plastic
I will check out all of these ideas. I'm not worried about the outside durability. They will not see the outdoors, only hanging in a display on the garage wall. Thanks
