Re: Nick's 1973 454 Malibu "Buff"
That interesting, I'll keep a close eye on it make sure it's not causing any damage. I don't plan to drive too hard until it's all settled. Then we'll find out what breaks.

My car is almost complete, I can't wait to start tweaking and making the most out of it.

Slightly closer look. One more cut and buff and the paint is complete. Future plans after it's all back together is to carefully push the bumper in a little more, add the front lip spoiler, continue working on the rear spoiler design, and most likely add a bigger wheel and tire on the rear. Oh yeah, there's no a/c or radio in it, so I'll start adding those next month.
After reading all the vintage air post, I think might try to get the old system working for a while.

Wow, that's not the first time I heard something along those lines since then. That thread truly was not meant to scare anyone off from trying it. It was intended as more of a how-to and what issues you might face and how to get around them.

Nice work, BTW!

Re: Nick's 1973 454 Malibu "Buff"
The thread is very informative, which is what helped me make the decision. I want to enjoy the car for while, before I tear it down and I especially don't want to do it in the Florida heat.

Well guys here she is, and I love it! Still a lot of work to do, but I'm off to a great start. I have tons of unconnected wires under the hood it seems and I want to do something with them. I also need to get my tach working. Many more weekend projects, but hopefully nothing major.

Looks great! I think the wheels look good on it. I was thinking about that style of wheel but I was unsure how it would look on our body style but they fit in nicely.

Hey guys I'm thinking about losing the A/C and Heater and all components that go with, any problems with doing this? Worst case, it'll make it easier to go with an aftermarket setup, right? I just want to yank it all out and start fresh.

Re: Nick's 1973 454 Malibu "Buff"
I've been really busy on the car the last couple of week. I have several unopened boxes in the garage that'll have to wait until the new year.
Here's the list:
New Gauges and electric senders and GPS speedo. Not tested just but I should finish it up tomorrow.

A/C Delete - Only blows on high right now, but i have a replacement resistor to install.

Rewired everything under the hood. May have posted this already.

I have several switched devices so I deleted the radio and install a switch panel.

Longer wheel studs because my wheel come off while driving. I was pissed and my wheel was badly damaged. I tested at a few wheel shops, then sanded, polished, and cleared.

Close up of the Front and rear disc conversion while I was installing the studs.

As I think of more I'll update the thread.
