Just curious as to what that Monte hood weighs?

By way of reference the Chevelle hood is 80 lbs.

K

it weighs a lot and is difficult to handle due to its large size, compared to the second gen camaro.
difficult to weigh.

No pressure - but a suggestion for weighing these heavy bulky parts:

Set one corner on the floor and the other corner on the scale.  Double whatever number you get.

Chevelle steel hood was 80 lbs;  Chevelle bolt on flat fiberglass hood from US Body Source is 40 lbs;  Chevelle lift off fiberglass cowl induction hood is 20 lbs.

34 kg was shown on a personal scale, i.e. about 75 lbs, not necessarily a very accurate measurement.

I sprayed a generous layer of normadur epocoat 21 with a 1.7 nozzle on the hood. I start sanding with 240 paper,
while watching the paint dry, I polished off the biggest gray from the lens of the left taillight, with Biltema paste and a small 50mm eccentric.
