Orange Juice'd - My 77
Ok here's some build up pics of my 77 Malibu, took about 4 years. Right now its getting touch ups on the paint and a whole new custom interior and planning to send all the trim to the chromer. This is my first car that I bought, and I never got rid of it.
I dont have any pics of it when i first got.

after tons of body work here's a primer pic

There's 3 different shades of orange for a base coat.

getting wet sand after a few coats of kandy orange

added some patterns

added some power windows and locks

the interior in the same pattern, minus the buttons. Did it in white vinyl and tweed, with orange piping.

swap the 305 for 350.

As u can see this car is not made for speed, but cruising down the Blvd.
here's the trunk setup, before and after.

Here's how the motor looks right now, its a little dusty from sitting. I just got the "crossbars" back from the chromer today, just placed them on top to see how they would look.

I don't know if i should detail the inside of the hood ornament, or just leave it like this.

Hell ya man, that car was a clunker when you got it, its looks a ton better than when you got it. Its hard to believe that such a nice car can be made from something like that with just some TLC and lots of elbow grease
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for making "Rid of the Week" and posting it on the Gallery front page. Very Cool!!!!
She was a beater, we counted around 90 door dings on each side from bumper to bumper.
Very solid car, there was only one rust spot by one of the quarter windows

Re: Orange Juice'd - My 77
yeah its called Living The Low Life, its a great show, i love all cars lowrider tuner hotrod and 4X4, , and on Living the Low Life they also reconize "Lowrods", lowriders with big bad a$$ motors but with nice 18"-22" rims and a nice paint but not too outrageous, i think you should see that episode, its a really good one,

Re: Orange Juice'd - My 77
Its a good show, it gives u a peak into lowrider culture. Lowriders always do get a bad reps. But if it wasn't for it, i would have gotten into so much trouble.
Just by hanging out with a few freinds i learned so much from them, body work, installing hydros, and custom sound systems. And this summer I'm going to try to lay some paint.
And Maligoon, the host is Vida Guerra......she has big ol booty

I love all custom cars, from sleds to rockabilly, and donks to tuners. I get new ideas and try to incorporate them.
Lets see if this pic works.......

Re: Orange Juice'd - My 77
A little update
I was supposed just redo my interior and change a few little things here and there on the car. Now it's getting to the point that I'm redoing the whole car again
. As much as I like working on it, it seems like its a never ending story with this car. The rebuild is going to be a slow process since the funds are tight right now, but lucky I've been hoarding a "couple" of parts for the last couple of years
I broke down the whole dog house about a month ago to rework the inner fenders and to pull out the engine to replace the transmission seal.

As of yesterday

Planning on hiding all the wires, deleting the whole AC unit, and shaving the fire wall. I'm not sure how i want to shave the firewall: (A) all flat and smoothed or (B) just filling in the all holes and little dimples but still leaving all the factory groves and lines.
(A)

(B)

Its going to be a slow process, so I'll post pics as I get things done. Feedback is always welcomed, so let me know.

Re: Orange Juice'd - My 77
I think I like the second example of the firewall better, its cleaner, but not totally flat. Unless you're getting rid of all the firewall accessories, I'd keep some of the contours.
