Re: tires
Would the following combo look good for a 15x8 wheel?
205/60R15 front
225/60/R15 rear
This is for my 82 Malibu.
I am looking at the uniroyal tiger paw touring NT.

Re: tires
225/60/15 is a little narrow for a 8 inch wheel. I have 245/60/15's on 8.5 wheels and the fit well. my fronts are 7 inch wide wheel and i have 215/60/15s.

Re: tires
I wanted the 245s, but I can't afford any that I have found and it doesn't appear that they have that tire in that size.
I need a set around 300 or under.

Re: tires
A lot of those old school sizes are getting obsolete. Â The tires I have are from 1992...(I bought them used a few years later) technically they shouldn't still be on the road, but for the maybe 300 miles a year i put on them (and countless burnouts) they are perfect....wouldn't want to wear out some "new" tires.

Re: tires
There have been a lot of torn up cars because someone wanted to use dryrotted tires for burnouts iinstead of wearing out good tires. JB

Re: tires
My tires aren't dry rotted. Â Since new they have always been on hobby cars that are stored indoors and only driven in nice weather. (I bought them off a former coworkers '84 18,000 mile m/c SS)

I know locally Cooper Cobra dealer's are offering a Buy 3 get 1 free turn's out to be right around $290 for 255/60 tires or less, but all 4 tires have to be same size

Re: tires
They are Centerline wheels. The rear is dished in a bit more than the front, but I think they are both 8 inch wheels.

I would say at least 235 fronts and at the least 255 to 275 rear

I put the 275/60 cooper cobras on the Nova just to replace the old drag radials that were on the car. Even though those drag radials were worn, the coopers were like driving on ice when you nailed it. But I expected them to be. Â Â

Re: tires
What about 7 inch rallies? I just found out that my wheels on my Chevelle are 7s instead of 8s. Anyway I want to try and keep them all the same, but what would be the best for all four the same and for a staggered fit.
I was thinking 245/60R15s all around or 235/70R15s.
If I do staggered 255/70R15s and 245/60R15 for the front.
What do you guys think?

Re: tires
Here's a pic of my Laguna when I brought it home with 235/70/15's on it. Personally, I think it's too much sidewall and gives them that balloon-tire look.

Re: tires
Agreed. Do you think that 245"60R15s on all four corners would be good. My car has a 1 inch drop on the rear and a 2 inch drop on the front. Or at least it will once I swap out the big block springs I was given by mistake from Autozone... I told them multiple times that IT WAS NOT A BIG BLOCK!!! sorry..

Re: tires
I would do the 60 series 70 series are too tall Like Steve said, 225/60 and 255/60 is what I am gonna run as soon as this guy makes his mind up whether he wants my cragars or not, If he doesn't take them I will install them and post a pic

Re: tires
I have 255/60 X 15 on the rear of my Malibu, and 225/60 on the front. I was never happy with big wide tires on the front..
My '75 Elco is gonna get 225/70s all around, so it's drivable in winter.
