Looking good. Don't forget to replace the little firewall gasket when you reinstall the booster.

You guys and your shiny stuff. Not my style but looks like you did some fine prep on that booster, good job. Looking forward to the rest of the build

Re: 76 laguna
The firewall in sealer
And painted in base clear...
I have about 40 hours in the firewall... I welded up the holes that aren't used, I rolled the upper seam on the top, all new seam sealer, body worked the heater box, smoothed and reshape the lower pinch weld across the bottom of the firewall. I'm glad it's finally in color, now just have to spray the underside of the body after I patch one small hole in the rear wheel house.

Re: 76 laguna
I very much like your color theme. Black & Silver parts really pop with the main color being Burgundy.

Re: 76 laguna
Thanks! I wanted to stick with only two colors under the hood, body color and black, the hood hinges will deviate and be powder coated chrome, the motor and trans are already painted body color, just have to do the headers, they'll also be black.
The wheel houses......not sure, body color, or black.

Re: 76 laguna
Great progress, wish we had the weather so I can start on mine, still a bunch of rain on the way.
And I think body color for the wheel houses would look cool, especially if you are running the wire looms on them, just a little black loom running across. I think it would look sharp that way.

Re: 76 laguna
I had it all black since 96, always wanted to change it back to the original color, just never got really in depth with the restoration. It'd be even better if I brought it to work, but I'm pretty well set up at home. Will paint the exterior at work though. It's nice working in a body shop, just sucks working on other peoples cars instead of my own.
I was never a fan of the satin black look, just wanted to stray from the mainstream I guess. The pictures just don't do the color justice.

Re: 76 laguna
Wasn't black what it was originally? I always loved Chrysler engine compartments...all body color.

Re: 76 laguna
Thanks! I'm still a bit apprehensive about the color.....I keep resisting the urge to repaint it black! It is a very unique color for the 76 year. My wife is actually the one who convinced me to paint it the original color. It'll be interesting to see it coming together, I've never seen one finished in it! So.....it's still not too late to paint it black!

Re: 76 laguna
Everybody does black. The mahogany will be great and will really make and already rare car stand out even more. Variety is the spice of life!

Yours is a different breed altogether! An all black SE with disco stripes, you and I will bring back the 70's.... Trust me! In your case black is the ONLY way to go on that one!
