Re: Where are you at picture
It seems somewhat straight forward. I just have to climb under there and cut my new cables to length. I cut the material to make the headliner, but I need help glueing it in. It is 1 piece and it has to fit perfectly around a 12” x 1/2” slot that I cut for my LED dome light. When that is in I can install some interior parts. I am getting real close to finishing the Camaro. After that, I will have undivided attention on the Laguna.

Hey, you posted while I was posting. Yes, I will be making a console. I am going to pick up the material today just in case we get hit by 2 hurricanes at once this week.

Re: Where are you at picture
If its not a pandemic, its a hurricane...or 2. But that will not stop us from getting your Laguna on the road this year! Let me know when the Camaro is done and I'll come down and help button up the cable setup for the hand brake and the headliner. I'll be in Austin most of the week as I just became a granddad as of yesterday. Woohoo! So the following week I'm good to report back to Laguna duty.

Awesome 6.0 project. Are you going carbureted or EFI? What transmission are you going to use?

EFI & with my Supercharger from my current engine.
4L80E.
Said to myself that I was never going to be "that" guy to LS swap.....but , was getting bored and got to watchin the You Tubes over the winter about the LS and so forth......needed a new project....couldn't resist !! Last Feb, 2020 I purchased a 2004 Silverado 2500HD with 215k & the 6.0 / 4L80-e in two-wheel drive package with some history records. Great running donor with all the vitals in check. SOLD the truck off with a total of $150.00 in a running motor and trans. I drove it maybe 150 miles before pulling. Rebuilding slowly.

Sounds like a great plan. Ported heads, cam, exhaust, and converter and you can make 500 with a 6.0.
I have been playing with some cardboard and MDF. Here are a couple of pictures of what I have so far. It’s kind of tight getting an armrest, hand brake, shifter and power window switch all in the first 17”s.

Re: Where are you at picture
Your console looks cool. I also made my own console, and the biggest Challenge was keeping the swivel seat from hitting when turning them. It was tight and the console has to be a bit narrow to keep the swivel function intact. Im hoping it works out for you.

Re: Where are you at picture
Thanks all 3 of you. I did keep it thin between the seats for that reason. Thanks for reminding me. I will definitely check and trim to make sure my seats have a full range of travel. I am waiting on my neighbor to get home so I can make a 1/4 slot in the front section so I can “bend” the wood to make my angle fit in the front. Then I can make my side pieces and cup holder section. Here are a couple of pictures of what I worked on this morning. I relived the wood on the lid and added a slight over hang to hide the hinge.

That is gonna be awesome! When the student is ready, the teacher will appear... Hopefully I can return to class next week and learn the ways of the Force. Cause I wanna console like that someday.

Re: Where are you at picture
Yours will be a good bit easier. With yours we will just have to cut in the auto shifter. That and make an extra large console box to carry around all the Bad Azz that makes g3chevy the King. I went down to my neighbors and we made the cut for the lower front section. This is the base for the side supports and cup holder area. My neighbor has more saws than all of Sawsburg Tennessee. Now it’s time to watch the hurricane.

Re: Where are you at picture
Hey. I have been working on a few projects but I am getting close on my ghetto console. Thanks to Hs1973, I was able to find a design that will allow the swivel seats to fully turn around. I really had to change the arm rest section. I had to make a custom steel bracket with 4 bends and a weld to make it strong and thin. I am almost finished with it. All I need to do now is some touch up work. I did purchase some LED cup holders and 2 cigarette lighter plugs to charge cellphones. Here are a couple of pictures. With the wood, cup holders, cig plugs, along with everything else that was laying around my garage, I have about $46 invested in it.

Re: Where are you at picture
Looks Real good. Im happy if i have been a help. I almost forgot myself to check if the swivels would turn. Lucky i remembered to check in time. It would have been a bad thing to have to redo it.

Re: Where are you at picture
Looking good Kevin! I always wondered why the consoles in our vehicles had such a low armrest. But when you swivel the seats it becomes obvious. Glad Hs1973 caught that! Hope to get down your way this week with the vent duct work for the center of your dash.

Well, the back of the car is done. I am almost finished with my Camaro, and then, I WILL, finish my Laguna.

Re: Where are you at picture
I thought I would share how a redneck blocks off an AC vent. Since I am converting my non AC car to AC, I had to block the port that goes to the passenger side upper vent. Since my car doesn’t have one, I thought I would block it and force the air out of the small lower vent. So, here is my recipe for success:
1 cup from a BBQ restaurant
1 cut off wheel
2 rivets
As you can see from the second picture, the cup no longer holds water.

Re: Where are you at picture
Hey the Fantastic g3chevy stopped by yesterday and we got some work done. We made up a couple of brake lines and he used his super cool flaring tool and we finished the brakes, bleeding included. Huge thanks for that. He also saw my ghetto paint job on my roof. I didn’t like how to trim pieces had that little gap in them so I filled that in and I spray painted the roof to mimic the vinyl top. I sanded it down, sprayed a can of primer, sanded that. I then used 4 cans and then wet sanded that. I also finished my hand brake upgrade.
