Re: My 73 Chevelle turbo LS swap
Yeah Ive got exhaust wrap to wrap all the hot pipes in, and a turbo blanket for the turbo, should keep anything from melting.
Can see the blanket here from when I was mocking everything up on one of the spare 5.3s

Re: My 73 Chevelle turbo LS swap
Looks like I need to go back and update the old posts with pics again now that photof**kup killed all the pics......
Yes, its about 3/4" below the crossmember. If i had to do it again i would have used the Holley pan.

What's the brand of your new wheels? Are they forged?

Nope they are cast, but it doesnt bother me considering what I paid for them (<$350 for all 4) Jegs sells them as their brand, but they are made by Vision wheel http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS-Performance-Products/JEGS-SSR-Star-Wheels/3663732/10002/-1?productId=3663732&N=0&Ns=P_Margin%7c0%7c%7cP_SKU%7c0&Tab=SKU&storeId=10001&catalogId=10002&langId=-1&Nrpp=180

Re: My 73 Chevelle turbo LS swap
Got the exhaust done, 4" from the turbo back. My plan was to have it exit right in front of the rear tire but i didnt have enough 4" left to get it that far, so this will do for now.

Got a shifter for it

Got my brother to mount the tires for me (haven't put them on the car yet)

Also got a deal on a 4l80e trans

Sneek peak of the wheels on the car until this weekend.
The fronts are 205/75s on 15x4s
The rears are 275/60s on 15x10s

Re: My 73 Chevelle turbo LS swap
Still working on the tune. But on only 6-7psi it's surprisingly quick. Still babying it though trying too keep the stock th350 alive long enough to get the rest of the parts to swap the 4l80e in.

Some pics from a show at my dad's work, Took both the 73 and the 67.

Re: My 73 Chevelle turbo LS swap
Also put the 67 on the chassis dyno they had there. Was 87* out that day and having the car running in the middle of a blacktop parking lot didn't help matters. Was seeing 140* intake air temps which was making the computer pull 10 degrees of timing (down to 16 instead of 26 degrees total timing). Still made 304hp at the tires.
