Didn't start making vipers until 1992. Those are bubble levels for the main headlights in the front. Wasn't a high volume mass production car. Did not have to follow all the regs such as crash testing etc. didn't even have any windows in the car.

I'm not really up on vipers but I did a google search and they show quite a few pics of 88 and newer vipers. Or are these something else.

1992 shows a front marker and the wrap around tail light. The rear marker is in the tail light. Heres a front pic of a 92 and you can see the front marker light. http://www.muscle-gta.com/year-Dodge-Viper-1992.31.html

Just a reflector on the front, does not contain a light.

Production started in 92, that first picture is just the early concept car that is now hanging from ceiling in Walter p Chrysler museum.

Base Malibus also show the single headlights through '77, but I haven't ever seen one....

I think it does light up. Bottom row,second pic, shows the front view with its lights on. Shows a marker light on the fender lit. And rockauto even sells a bulb for the front side marker light.
