Once you drive an LS car you don't go back. 20+ mpg, 350+hp and very reliable, a no brainer for me.

This is so true. I picked up my Mom and daughter for mothers day and went 225 miles round trip to my sisters place in my 73 Malibu. With A/C running (I have a vintage air set up in mine) we got 23.9 miles per gallon.

Did the pin come with the roller?
Can you list part number for pin if it did not come as a set please?
Pin and roller are separate, pin is gm #20262500 and roller is #20058035.
I know this is a dumb question but can this swap be done without tacking hinge off the car? I have a roller on drivers door that wont last too much longer.
Thanks for the info Wally

Hi Wally, I know these rollers have always been an issue, no one lubes them. When I bought the Monte everything the drivers roller is attached to was in the console, the roller wore out (gone), the indent arm cut through the rest of the pin and the whole 4" rod fell out of the hinge.
We used a pulling tool that slid behind the head of the pin, then tighten studs to clamp down on it. Two other bolts then were used through the tool to pull out the pin. I will take a pic of the tool when I get back to the shop Monday. The new pin and roller were pounded in with a 2 lb hammer. All done while hinges were in a vise and not upside down, on the car.
Sorry, since I don't have an assembled car and didn't tackle it on the car I cant really answer your question. Maybe the fender would have to come off to get easy access to the roller?

Thanks for the info. I did a hinge rebuild when I painted the car and I have lubed it but roller is starting to go.
I saw these At summit racing.

They say they fit a 73 Nova so not sure if that hinge is the same as our cars.

I have a door spring compressor tool and have done them before in the past. Just looking for a better option this time around.
All summer I drive my car as a daily driver so it get used a lot.
